About

Deborah Sesek provides legal counsel and representation to employers in Ohio Workers’ Compensation matters. For over 32 years, she has worked with businesses engaged in the construction, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, service, and transportation industries. Her work involves assisting and defending employers to control claims and costs before the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Industrial Commission of Ohio, and the courts of Ohio.

Ms. Sesek received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dayton, and her law degree cum laude from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law of Cleveland State University. She was admitted to practice law in Ohio in 1976, and in California in 1987.

From 1980 to 2009, Ms. Sesek was a member of Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLP, having been elected the firm’s first female partner in 1984. While at Buckingham she organized and chaired the workers’ compensation practice group, and served on the firm’s Board of Managers. She practiced in both the Akron and Cleveland offices.

Deborah Sesek has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America® from 1997 through 2010, and 2012 through 2013. She was recognized in Ohio’s Super Lawyers™ in 2004 to 2010 and 2013, as voted by her peers.

Ms. Sesek has done volunteer work and served on nonprofit boards in Northeast Ohio. In May 2011, she received a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Case Western Reserve University.
